When I read the quote below it changed my life. It put into perspective how far I've come and all of the things I've had to believe and do in order to stand right here. It also reminds me that if I wanna keep on going, keep on climbing I'm going to have learn new habits and find new beliefs that I didn't even know was in me.
"The habits you created to survive will no longer serve you when it's time to thrive. Get out of survival mode. New habits, new life."
Habits I used to survive
Drinking to numb everything
Sleeping to avoid my day
Telling people I only wear black because it's the same colour as my soul
Eat everything around me because I can
Smoking for "fresh air"
Making things about me
Trying to think positive all.the.time
Current Habits I'm using to thrive
Paying attention to everything I was thinking and feeling
Waking up early excited by the possibility for change
Being open to people/things and trusting my own vulnarbilities
What I put into my body affects my moods
Real fresh air actually helps, taking deep breaths in and out to refocus and breath love in and out
Learning it's never about me and I can do so much better by sitting just sitting with others in their feelings.
Accepting whatever feeling that is happening. Not judging it, not letting it become me and letting it go.
New Habits for the Next Level of my life
Use my thoughts and feelings more purposefully
Using my mornings to plan for the change I want to create
Showing up 100% of the time
Eat not just to enjoy but to be healthy
Taking moments throughout the day to recenter
Live a life of service
Accepting whatever feeling that is happening. Not judging it, not letting it become me and letting it go.
If you want something different from the life you've been living you're going to have to do things differently.
